31 Week Bumpdate

How far along? 31 weeks
Weight Gain? Don’t know the exact number but I’m sure I’m a few pounds heavier after feasting all Thanksgiving weekend! Hahah Kendal just keeps grabbing my belly and rubbing it going “Oh look at the baby!” Truth is, I think my bump was ½ baby, ½ stuffing and sweet potatoes for a few days! Haha
Size of baby? A head of romaine lettuce! Wowza
Maternity Clothes? Lots of sweats for me these days!
Pregnancy Symptoms? Not so much a symptom of pregnancy… but Kendal and I both got really bad colds this week :( I don’t think I have ever been so sick for so many days in a row but pregnancy gives me the immune system of a 90 year old! I even missed 3 days of work which I’ve never done before. Usually I just push through it but I was extra nervous about getting healthy again since it is for me AND a precious little babe. The good news is Kendal and I got to cuddle lots all day since we were both sickies. I mean, between blowing our noses and coughing up a storm! Romantic, I know. Hahah
Must have items?
  • King-sized pillows on both sides of me while I sleep! I am really starting to take up our whole bed at night, but I am growing a tiny human so I think it’s fair! Haha
Sleep?
Cravings? I finally gave into my orange cravings and it was AMAZING! I already had a cold and was feeling crappy so I was like, eh… might as well! Plus I figured my body could use a little extra vitamin C. I ate one a day and only felt sick from it once which was awesome!
Anything making you queasy? I made these crushed potato things and ended up getting really nauseous which was no fun. But I don’t think it had anything to do with being pregnant. Kendal even got a little sick from them. I can’t figure out what was bad because it was basically just potatoes, butter and garlic and none of the ingredients were bad but something about them made us both super queasy. Bummer because they tasted pretty good going down!
Baby movement? Yes which I was extra excited about! I just felt nervous about taking cold medicine twice a day and it was such a relief every time I felt her move inside me.
Best moment this week? We have a crib!!! We got some killer deals over black Friday but the one I was most thrilled about was the cute little crib that is now all set up in her nursery :) It actually ended up being an early baby shower gift to us from Grandma King! She overheard us researching stores for Black Friday deals and offered to buy us a crib which was so so sooo nice. She insisted that it made it easier for her since she can’t get out the house much and doesn’t like online shopping! I really can’t say how extremely grateful we are for that gift.
Weird pregnancy moment? I guess getting a cold was the weirdest pregnancy moment of the week for me. I usually stay pretty healthy even when I am around other sickos and when I do get sick, it generally only lasts for a day or two!
What I’m looking forward to? Looking forward to my doctor’s appointment next week! Is that weird to say that going to the doctor’s can be exciting? I just love hearing her little heartbeat!

30 Week Bumpdate

How far along? 30 weeks
Weight Gain? I gained 2 lbs since my last doctors appointment about 2 weeks ago! I guess I must be into the stage where I’ll be gaining about a pound a week. Heaven help me! Lol
Size of baby? A Cantaloupe! Woop Woop!
Maternity Clothes? I tried on some of my normal pants this week and they fit! I was pretty surprised because they are not my biggest pair but something about the cut made it work and I was so happy! I was getting tired of the four maternity jeans I switch through day to day. Hahah
Pregnancy Symptoms? I’m feeling less  anxious this week after completing my baby registries. I’m a list lover and it really relieved a lot of the stress I was having over not feeling prepared for baby to categorize all the things we need to get before she comes. Of course, we still aren’t ready at all because we don’t actually  have most of the necessities but it felt so good to create a completed list of items I’ve reviewed and compared!
Sleep? Oh, you mean waking up every few hours to pee? It’s great. Haha
Cravings? This wasn’t necessarily a craving… but ohhhh my gosh… I got SO hungry the other night. Just absolutely starving out of nowhere! We had a couple options in the house but I knew none of it was going to satisfy my growling belly so I went and picked up a Little Caesars pizza and ate almost the entire thing by myself! Hahah. In Kendal’s terms, I ate from “3 all the way to 12 on a clock”. Oh and most of the bag of crazy bread. I couldn’t stop myself! But it filled me and this hungry little baby up so #noregrets.
Anything making you queasy? I was tested for gestational diabeties at my doctors appointment this week and had to drink a super sugary orange drink that left me feeling a little uneasy. I don’t know if it was the sugar or the orange flavor that did me in!
Baby movement? Oh yes! The other day at work I could feel her getting ready to move (I don’t know how to describe this but sometimes I can just feel her winding up haha) so I quickly peaked down at my tummy and saw her doing the wave across my stomach! Hahah it was crazy. She literally rolled from my right side to my left. I wish I could catch all these moments on camera so other people could enjoy them (almost) as much as I do because it is FASCINATING!
Best moment this week? Kendal joined me at my doctors appointment since his class was cancelled and we ended up taking a little tour of the hospital while we were there! It was so special to walk around together and imagine being back there in just a few months to have our OWN baby! Ah! I felt ALL the feels standing in the delivery room thinking about the next time I’d be in there. My eyes even teared up a little bit. Partially because of excitement but if I’m being completely honest… soooo many nerves! Labor and delivery scare me! They just always have! I’ve been trying to read up on birth stories to prepare myself but I don’t think anything is going to make me feel ready for that moment. And I’m telling myself that’s okay! I just need to keep positive affirmations at the forefront of my mind and I will get through it just like every other mother has before me!
Weird pregnancy moment? Dreaming I gave birth to a fluffy orange cat. Hahah it was horrible and so vivid. People kept telling me she’d grow out of the stage! Lol… bizarre. And Kendal was growing out his beard to prove he has some red flecks so people know it’s his baby too. Hahah. I woke up terrified and sweating because the cat baby attacked me and bit my neck really hard while we were cuddling. Yikes!
What I’m looking forward to? Gobbling til I wobble eating all the stuffing at thanksgiving! (I have been craving Thanksgiving dinner since September).

11.19.2017

29 Week Bumpdate

How far along? 29 weeks
Size of baby? A hawaiian pineapple. When Kendal and I went grocery shopping he grabbed a pineapple off the shelf and put it right by the bump to compare… ABSOLUTELY CRAZY to think she is getting so big in there!
Maternity Clothes? Loving all my maternity jeans, leggings and sweats!
Pregnancy Symptoms? I’ve been a little moody this week, if we are being honest! Haha I feel like I have been pretty steady with my emotions throughout most of this pregnancy, but there is something about entering the third trimester that has really messed with my head! I just have so many nerves about EVERYTHING! It’s close and it’s scary. Don’t get me wrong… I am crazy excited too! But I’m feeling extremely under-prepared in pretty much every way. Advice??
Sleep? It’s been alright! Just the usual.
Cravings? My sweet tooth came back with a fiery vengeance this week! I haven’t baked cookies once this whole pregnancy (so weird compared to my usual twice a month regimen pre-pregnancy) but finally got the craving for chocolate chip cookies (actually chocolate chip cookie dough)! So I made a batch and it was heavenly. Then, we had some older zucchini that needed to be used and I made double chocolate zucchini muffins! So much baking! It helped calm my nerves a little at least. Baking always makes me feel better!
Anything making you queasy? This is an odd one, but chicken hasn’t sounded appealing all week! In no shape or form other than the spicy chicken deluxe combo meal from Chick-Fil-A Kendal brought home for me!
Baby movement? Yes and I caught more on video! Such a fun memory of growing this little chick! :)
Best moment this week? My work brought in a massage therapist for a few days for employee appreciation and having someone rub my lower back was incredible! My low back seems to be constantly uncomfortable and that really helped.
Weird pregnancy moment? Hormones are still rocking my poor skin! I got a ginormous zit on my nose that has been really great to deal with. Nawt. What’s a girl to do when Mt. Vesuvius decides to set up camp smack dab in the middle of my face?!
What I’m looking forward to? Not having to pee every 5 minutes. Hahah and I still have 10 weeks left! I don’t know how I am going to get through it!

28 Week Bumpdate

How far along? 28 weeks - THIRD TRIMESTER AHHHH!
Size of baby? A tropical coconut! It sure looks like I have a coconut in under my belly!
Pregnancy Symptoms?
Sleep? Sleep has been alright for me but the really exciting thing about sleep this week is not so much for me… but for baby! I learned that she might be starting to dream at this point! How cool is that??
Cravings? I had the strongest craving for cottage cheese with peaches this week! I ate some every single day and looooved it.
Anything making you queasy? Not much! I’ve even been chowing down on some leftover chocolate Halloween candy! (Btw, if you haven’t tried the Reese’s cups stuffed with Reese's Pieces, you NEED to!)
Name? This had to be mentioned this week! So… the name is and will remain a secret. BUT we MIGHT have come up with a game changer. This whole time, we have been pretty set on a certain name (one we’ve talked about since before we were even engaged). But we went to the movies over the weekend and there was one character whose name stood out to me. The entire movie I just kept thinking of this name and liking it more and more. When we came out, I mentioned the name to Kendal and he really liked it to! It just has such a pretty ring to it :) So… while I still LOVE our first idea (and the thought of not using it makes me feel kind of sad/ like I am cheating on it) there will be some competition once she has made her official arrival and we can decide which suits her more!
Baby movement? Always! She’s a strong little missy :)
Best moment this week? I’ve started swimming laps at the pool and it is freaking amaaazing. It feels so good to be in the water and I feel like it gives me more energy throughout the day! I just really love everything about it and I’m really not sure why I didn’t start doing it sooner?!
Weird pregnancy moment? Weird things really aren’t that weird to me at this point. I’ve just accepted that I have little to no control over what my body does at this point haha!
What I’m looking forward to? I’m really looking forward to the baby shower my angel Mother-in-law and aunt are throwing for me! It’s made me realize how many amazing people I have in my life. With my own mom in India, it’s comforting to know there are so many people here who love and support me! Also, I’ve held off buying A LOT of stuff and when the third tri officially hit, I got super anxious thinking about everything we still need to get and do before baby comes. But I’m so thankful there are so many women in my corner who will help me and give me advice on all things baby!

11.18.2017

27 Week Bumpdate

How far along? 27 weeks
Weight Gain? I had a doctors appointment this week and got an update on my weight gain! I will just say that the second number was one I have never seen while on a scale! Haha it was kind of crazy to see something that. But baby girl is growing and she’s healthy and I am happy! :)
Size of baby? A bunch of bananas.
Pregnancy Symptoms? My bladder feels like it’s the size of a walnut! If I’m not in the bathroom or walking to the bathroom, I am thinking about the next time I will have to get up to go to the bathroom! Hahah oh the joys of pregnancy!
Sleep? I felt a little more energetic this week! I slept pretty well each night and didn’t get as tired as early as I have throughout the pregnancy. I guess I got that “second trimester burst of energy” in my last week of the 2nd tri lol!
Cravings? Anything salty! Chips, fries, you name it.
Anything making you queasy? Not really! Yay!
Baby movement? OH MY GOODNESS! The greatest thing happened. Baby girl had been moving so much through the week, so Kendal and I decided to try something out. One of my pregnancy apps said that she could see this week and it recommended a little game. Apparently at this stage, baby can differentiate between light and dark. So it said if we put a flashlight up to my belly, baby might start moving around. YUP! It definitely worked. Haha literally the instant Kendal put the light up to my stomach, she LURCHED. It totally freaked me out! Kendal didn’t see it because I jumped so high but it looked like she dragged her arm across the entire right side of my belly. Hahah we really must have startled her in there! It was so funny and I’ve tried to recreate it since then, but nothing compares to that first time.
Best moment this week? It was Halloween this week, so the best moment by far was dressing my bump up with our costume! I’ve been looking forward to incorporating my pregnant tummy into my costume for yearssss. It was so fun to finally be able to use the idea I’ve been dreaming up for so long! Kendal and I were “Cast Away”. He was Tom Hanks, complete with crazy hair and a huge beard, ripped clothes and a FedEx box. I, of course, was Wilson. Everyone got a kick out of it! It turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself! ALSO, my brother Stephan threw a 1920’s murder mystery dinner and although I didn’t use my belly as a prop for that party, it was really cool for my siblings to see my growing bump! What made it even better was their reaction to touching it! Hahah unfortunately baby didn’t move for them, but it was just so funny how shocked they were by how firm and tight my belly feels! I’m pregnant with the first grandbaby on my side of the family and my sister-in-law, Shayla, doesn’t have any nieces or nephews either. So I don’t think any of them have touched a lot of pregnant bellys. It really is surprising how hard baby bumps feel!
Weird pregnancy moment? When winning costumes were being awarded at our ward’s Halloween party, there was obviously a lot of clapping going on (we got second place, btw!). It seemed like baby girl was clapping along with everyone else because she was practically doing flips each time the room erupted in applause! I don’t know if she could really hear the noise or if it was just coincidence, but it was exciting either way!
What I’m looking forward to? Hitting trimester THREE next week! Ah!

11.13.2017

26 Week Bumpdate

How far along? 26 weeks
Size of baby? Baby is a butternut squash! Just in time for the winter squash season too :)
Maternity Clothes? Same as last week! BUT one of the best moments was… I finally scored some long maternity jeans at DI! AND they are pretty cute too. I really like the cut and color of them. I mean, they aren’t super long and still seem a little short but at least I feel like I can get away with wearing them with normal shoes!
Pregnancy Symptoms? CRAMPING. Oh the cramping. Accompanied by a huuuuge growth spurt, just as the article I read promised (about feeling less movement prior to some major growing developments). I woke up Sunday morning after a few days of intense cramps and discomfort and Kendal was like, “woah, that babe doubled in size overnight!” I checked myself out in the mirror and he was spot on. I was suddenly huge! Like definitely and obviously pregnant. It was the craziest thing! We were actually on  weekend trip with a Kendal’s family at the time and they agreed. When we went down to have breakfast with them in the hotel lobby they were like “oh my goodness, there really is a baby in there!” And everyone in gas stations just looked at my bump and smiled at me at every rest stop we visited on the road trip. It was so fun feeling recognized for all my hard work! Growing a human is not easy!
Sleep? Still frequently wake up through the night and struggle to fall back asleep. I have a feeling it’ll continue to be like this for the rest of the pregnancy. I guess my body is just preparing itself to be up all night with a newborn!
Cravings? We got ice cream twice on the trip with Kendal’s family and it was super satisfying! Like, it wasn’t something I had been thinking about but while I was eating it I realized that it was REALLY hitting the spot!
Anything making you queasy? Tomatoes cause they are so acidic. I had to pick out all the tomatoes in my salads and give them to Kendal which was a huge bummer cause they looked so yummy! (That’s something I never thought I’d say as a child lol).
Baby movement? Oh. My. Goodness. This little girl really turned into a gymnast, salsa dancer, kickboxer this week! She constantly wiggled, punched, kicked and twirled alllll week long! It was so much fun! I could see pretty much every movement on the outside which is always double exciting for me. I even caught a few of her blips on video which made me extra happy!
Best moment this week? I ran a mile on the treadmill at the gym and felt sooo good! I haven’t really attempted running for a few months but I just felt like my body needed it! (Probably from sitting in the car for hours and hours on our weekend trip to Northern Idaho - which was also the best part of this week!) Oh and ask me how sore I was from just that one mile? Haha it’s like my body forgot it had any of those muscles!
Weird pregnancy moment? The growth. It was the best and weirdest. It’s like even though I’ve had one positive pregnancy test,  two ultrasounds, have heard her heartbeat multiple times and was constantly sick for three months… I didn’t feel like there was a baby in there until my tummy extended over my legs. Hahah I’ve just kept saying to Kendal, “what if I’m not pregnant and I am just getting fat?” But now that I’ve popped this far I feel obviously pregnant and have honestly loved it! It’s just such a cool experience and so weird to think that growing a person inside of you is POSSIBLE!

What I’m looking forward to? Continuing to feel those constant movements! Pregnancy just got so fun this week between popping and watching her wiggle inside me.

11.11.2017

25 Week Bumpdate

Size of baby? Napa cabbage!
Maternity Clothes? I have officially set aside all my pre-pregnancy jeans but one (which I call my Italian fat pants because on days on my study abroad when I wanted to feel really comfy I wore them because I accidently bought them too big haha). Still haven’t found any long maternity jeans though so I am keeping my fingers crossed the D.I. heavens will shine down on my sometime soon so I don’t have to wear boots everyday.
Pregnancy Symptoms? Honestly? I got a bad case of the toots. Every day. All day. Hahah I have never been so gassy in my life! (Admitting this is the most embarrassing thing I’ve written on this blog for sure!) But… it’s true. And real. And I can’t wait to be back to normal so I don’t feel like a boy in elementary school anymore.
Sleep? Nothing too different! Sometimes I grab a pillow to lodge between my legs for comfort when I am falling asleep, but I occasionally did that pre-pregnancy!
Baby movement? She seemed a little less active this week which made me feel a little uneasy but I read that this is normal and probably means she’s in for a growth spurt soon!
Best moment this week? Learning that she can likely hear and recognize my voice and possible Kendal’s at this point! I’ve started talking to her more and can’t help but smile when I feel her react in my tummy!

24 Week Bumpdate

How far along? 24 weeks
Size of baby? Eggplant baby :)
Maternity Clothes? Mostly wearing maternity jeans at this point. They are just so comfy! I’ve found some pretty great deals at DI. The only problem is… I have looong legs and everything I find that fits everywhere else is just a wee short. Good thing it’s boot season! Haha
Pregnancy Symptoms? Just the usual heartburn. I read that this week baby girl starts developing hair and there is a pregnancy myth that says heartburn = hairy baby. It’s going to be so exciting to see if that’s true or not! It would be so fun to have a little babe with a full head of hair :) But if she comes out with an egghead, I will love her all the same. Haha. After running across this myth, I texted my sis-in-law who just had a baby in February that was born with a head full of luscious locks to see if she experienced a lot of heartburn during her pregnancy. She confirmed that she did, alike her two prior pregnancies and that all her babies have had lots of hair. But of course, she said it’s a myth and heartburn is a very typical symptom. Until I meet this little sweetie, I will keep imagining her with lots of dark hair.
Sleep? Same old, same old. Still pretty comfortable (counting my blessings I continue to be able to sleep on my back without feeling winded!)
Cravings? We had our annual halloween get together with some of our friends up here and I made a big dish of dirt and worms for dessert (aka chocolate pudding, crushed oreos and gummy worms) and guess what? The most appealing thing about it was the gummy worms. I suppose pregnancy graduated me from my chocoholic status! I mean, don’t get me wrong. I enjoyed the pudding and oreos. But I couldn’t keep my hands off the gummy worms when I was assembling the treat! Hahah
Anything making you queasy? Processed meat. I hit my limit with it the weekend before and can happily go without any bacon or sausage or most pork products. For the halloween party I mentioned, it’s our tradition to make mummy brats (bratwursts wrapped in dough), and I ate one because like I said… IT’S OUR TRADITION. But sometimes I honestly think I could make it as a vegetarian (something I never thought I would say).
Baby movement? All the normal kicks, punches and twirls!
Best moment this week? (To be honest, I am writing this post just a few weeks late and I am wracking my brain for other details about what happened during this time… But I got nothin!)
Weird pregnancy moment? MY BOOBS STARTED LEAKING! Hahah it was the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me. Kendal and I were hugging goodbye before he left for class and then all of a sudden I realize my shirt is kind of wet. I thought it was because he had just showered and hadn’t fully dried but NOPE. After I asked him about it, I didn’t even consider the possibility I was already lactating and thought that maybe I had dribbled on my shirt a little while taking a drink of water but NOPE. I inspected the area a little more and suddenly it hit me. There would be no other reason for a perfectly round circle of wet on my boob (I know this is totally TMI but I’m just trying to document here!)
What I’m looking forward to? The urge to nest and crack down on getting baby’s nursery all ready for her big debut!

10.06.2017

23 Week Bumpdate

How far along? 23 weeks
Weight Gain? From my last appointment, it seems I’ve gained about 4 pounds! Baby is starting to grow A LOT faster and you can tell! I’m poppin for sure!
Size of baby? Baby is now the size of a bunch of grapes! And her little lungs look like the tiny grapes on the vine :)
Maternity Clothes? I’ve started wearing yoga pants more often and trying out some maternity bottoms here and there.
Pregnancy Symptoms? HUNGRY HUNGRY HIPPO over here! Haha it surprises me how many snacks I eat before noon. And I wake up starving every morning! I’ve never been able to eat much in the early hours of the day but even though I eat breakfast around 7 a.m.,  I power through 2 big bowls of dense/ hearty cereal without a problem.
Sleep? I’ve felt so much more energized compared to last week! Still tired but not quite as exhausted as I was. Sleep has been pretty good but there are still some nights where I wake up restless and can’t fall back asleep for whatever reason.
Cravings? GIVE ME ALL THE CARBS. Haha nothing in particular really but if it’s a bagel, muffin, piece of toast, sandwich, or pasta… COUNT ME IN!
Anything making you queasy?  I’ve found raw fruits and veggies give me heartburn more than anything else, which is probably why I am all about the carbo goodies right now. Hoping this doesn’t last long because I need to eat healthy for this little girl but it’s hard to make healthy choices when they make you feel sick :( How twisted.
Baby movement? Yes! She’s awake more than I thought because I can feel her spinning around throughout the day! It’s such a fun reminder of what my body is doing.
Best moment this week? Going up to Pocatello to watch General Conference with Kendal’s dad. Sadly for us, Lucy was visiting Marci in Arkansas so we didn’t get to see her, but it was great to be able to be with some family for conference weekend. And of course spending the whole day in sweats, wrapped up in a cozy blanket, cuddling with my honey wasn’t too bad either ;)
Weird pregnancy moment? I’ve been wracking my brain on this one for about 10 minutes and can’t think of anything super weird?? I mean, the daily developments in my belly button are pretty hilarious (I’m more than half outie at this point) but that’s nothing new! It’s the best I’ve got this week.
What I’m looking forward to? I know I’ve still got a lot of waiting to do for this… but I can’t wait to see who this baby looks like! I’ll be looking forward to that until we get to meet her squishy little self (plus a few weeks post birth since newborns all look the same). Speaking of which… do newborns look the same when it’s YOUR baby? I bet I’ll be saying “oh she has my lips!” or nose or ears or something the second she’s born just because she’ll be mine…. but let’s be honest before I’ve just gone through labor or delivery and I’m amped up on that new mom adrenalin….. All newborns are really just aliens. Hahah

22 Week Bumpdate

How far along? 22 weeks
Weight Gain? We will find out at my doctor’s appointment in a week!
Size of baby? Baby girl is now that size of corn on the AND apparently has a layer of fine hair just like corn silk! Crossing my fingers she is born with a full head of hair like Kendal :) But we will still adore her even if she is a baldy like I was haha
Maternity Clothes? Most jeans still fit BUT I did start wearing some of maternity clothes this week and I must say… those pants are sure comfy! I might as well make the transition over to straight maternity but honestly I find myself testing the limits with all my clothes every morning just cause I want to see how long I can make even my tightest jeans last. Haha not sure why (yes I do. PRIDE.) because I am sure I would be much more comfortable if I just let myself be.
Pregnancy Symptoms? Super dry skin, EVERYWHERE. Even my eyelids are dry… what? Baby is sucking all the moisture out of my skin. Send help and lotion! Oh and not to mention I had my most exhausting week to date. I seriously fell fast asleep before 6 every night. I can’t describe how tired I felt but let me just paint you this picture… on Tuesday morning I woke up and started crying because I felt too tired to go to work. ONLY TUESDAY YOU GUYS. And on Monday morning I texted my manager that I would need to come in late because I wasn’t feeling well and that was AFTER I had gone to bed at 9 pm. So yeah, I slept almost 12 hours straight Monday and then still cried over my exhaustion Tuesday morning. PREGNANCY WILL TURN YOU INTO A ZOMBIE FOR REAL.
Sleep? Sleep was fine this week besides the fact that I could never get enough!
Cravings? All I wanted this week was a classic Thanksgiving dinner, especially the stuffing! However, I never got it :( I was going to make a package of stuffing I had bought at Sam’s but I came to realize that the mix was actually not a mix and I was supposed to buy celery, onion, chicken broth, ect… and I was too tired to go back to the store. Sad day. I even tried looking up any restaurants in town that sold Thanksgiving dinner as an entree but the picture of the meal for each restaurant looked like lunch meat turkey and it just turned me right off. Shucks! Luckily Thanksgiving is only a month away and I can treat myself to a whole delicious feast then :)))) ← that’s my smiley face with lots of double chins lolol
Anything making you queasy? Nope but it seems like anything I eat in the evening gives me acid reflux.
Baby movement? YES :) The little flutters and twirls are getting much more consistent but they are still very little. Sometimes I think I can see my stomach moving but I am pretty sure it’s just my own heartbeat pulsing through my abdomen hahah. But I do a darn good job convincing myself otherwise!
Best moment this week? Starting to look more pregnant than chubby! Haha it was funny because the other day at work some people who didn’t know I was pregnant found out and one girl was like, “I was totally thinking you might be the other day but I was too scared to say anything!” Hahah welp I am glad she knows so she doesn’t just think I have a beer gut!
Weird pregnancy moment? My emotional breakdown over exhaustion was pretty weird. Hahah I was just in the middle of getting ready to leave and I was talking to Kendal about normal stuff and then all of a sudden I started crying about how I was feeling and I couldn’t stop. Ay-carumba, pull yoself together Claire! Haha later in the day Kendal texted me and said it was really cute. Oh boy. That one is a keeper I tell you! He is the nicest and sweetest and best and never ever questions me when I ask for a foot rub. This little girl and I are the luckiest!
What I’m looking forward to? I am looking forward to DEFINITELY seeing baby move from the outside because videos of that crack me up and make my heart swell! Also I’m just so excited for when Kendal can see/ feel her moving. It’s the best part of pregnancy for me and I want us to be able to enjoy it together!

21 Week Bumpdate

How far along? 21 weeks
Weight Gain? Approximately 10 pounds and counting!
Size of baby? Baby is a baby bok choy!
Maternity Clothes? Nope. But that doesn’t stop me from bi-weekly DI runs to check out the maternity section. I have already scored some killer deals to use for when I need it!
Pregnancy Symptoms? Acid reflux for days! Before pregnancy, I had never experienced heartburn. It seemed like so many people got it and I never understood what they were talking about. As it turns out, it feels EXACTLY like it sounds. Like my organs are swimming in acid… and it’s no fun. Hoping it’ll stop once baby is here and not become a common thing like it seems to be for the average human.
Sleep? My body has gotten into this weird habit where I randomly wake up in the middle of the night feeling completely energized and ready to go for about two hours (usually between 3:30-5:30 a.m.) but then I eventually fall back asleep and feel utterly EXHAUSTED when my alarm goes off for work at 6:30. Part of me is wondering if it has something to do with baby’s sleeping habits inside of me? I’ll go into this more a few questions down, but I am pretty sure I have started to feel some of her movements (YAY!) and oftentimes it’s when I am awake during those hours of the night. If this is the case, I am already nervous for those sleepless nights when she active in the wee hours of the morning! YIKES! Oh motherhood :)
Cravings? Alright, this is probably my “weirdest/ most exciting” craving to date. The other day I was making spaghetti with meat sauce and thought to myself, “hm this would be tasty if it was spicy!” so I threw in some red chili flakes. Correction… a lot of red chili flakes. And gobbled up spicy spaghetti for dinner. Is that strange? For me it is because I have never been into spicy foods but I feel like the idea of spicy spaghetti isn’t too bizarre. Right? Let me know what you think!
Anything making you queasy? Cuties. I THINK. It is bumming me out so hard because I LOVE CUTIE SEASON! The other day when Kendal and I went grocery shopping I saw that those big bags of tiny orangy goodness were on sale and of course bought it without remembering that in the early stages of this pregnancy I threw up every time I ate a cutie. Well, I remembered  how nauseous they made me a few months ago when I ate one at work the next day. Luckily I didn’t throw up, but I spent the rest of the day feeling like I was back in the yucky part of the first trimester, almost WISHING I would just throw up. Sigh.
Gender? PINK!
Baby movement? Ah, here’s the exciting stuff! I have started feeling just a little bit of movement down there :) It’s not strong or consistent or often but it definitely happens on occasion! The first time was after I got home from the gym and was sitting (slumping is actually way more accurate) on the couch and was looking at my phone with one hand while the other was placed on my stomach resting. Out of NOWHERE I felt this little BLIP right under my hand on my stomach and was like woah that was totally a human kicking my insides. It was so remarkable and thrilling! So then I started pushing back from the inside out to make her do it more (haha sorry baby) and sure enough, she responded with a few more little chops! I just sat there, talking to my belly, trying to get her to keep doing it, but she’s just a tiny baby afterall and must have got tired from all that rowdiness! Haha. I couldn’t wait to tell Kendal when he got home. We spent awhile trying to make her do it more together, and though I could feel some twirling sensation inside of me, it was nothing that could be felt from the outside. I don’t even think those first few kicks and punches could really be felt from the outside, even though it seemed like that to me! You know, it’s that weird perception when you touch your own arm with your finger and you’re like… is that my finger feeling my arm or my arm feeling my finger? Do you get what I mean? Haha or am I the only one who that makes sense to? Anyway… those little blips continued on at spontaneous moments during the week and each time I just stopped what I was doing and sat there in awe like “WOAH”. It’s so cool because a lot of people say those first movements feel like popcorn popping or butterflies or even just gas bubbles… but what I felt was unmistakably a human being inside of me swooshing around! JUST THE BEST EVER. On one of my sleepless nights (described above) the way it felt was exactly this: Haiiiiii - YA! Hahaha that’s the best way I can express it. It felt like she was winding up with a little “haiiiii” and then boom! Came the “YA!” The next morning I told Kendal we might just have a wild party animal on our hands who like to do karate before the world wakes up!
Best moment this week? Hands down feeling life inside me (if that wasn’t already obvious from my novel above) haha!
Weird pregnancy moment? Feeling life inside of me definitely doubles for the weirdest pregnancy moment of the week! I was just so prepared to wait much longer after learning that the placenta is placed right between my skin and the baby… it totally caught me off guard… in the BEST way possible :)
What I’m looking forward to? Strong enough movements that Kendal can feel it! Everytime I put my hands to my stomach after saying “woah”, Kendal eagerly did the same but was always so disappointed when he couldn’t feel all the fun. I know it’ll  take a few more weeks to get that point but if there is anything pregnancy has taught me, it’s that patience is key.
